Admin HistoryUpon graduating from the London Film School, Bill Douglas began submitting his script, 'My Childhood', to obtain funding for the film. He was rejected by the Films of Scotland Committee, who thought the film too "backward-looking". The British Film Institute's Production Board, then headed by Mamoun Hassan, disagreed with the FSC and awarded Douglas the funds to create his film. The Bill Douglas 'Trilogy' was funded and distributed by the BFI.
