2. Manila folder labelled 'Calmady-Hamlyn. Brooks of Bridestowe. 1897-', containing correspondence and notes concerning an alleged set of magistrates' deaths brought on by a black witch's curse. Also contains few copies of Minutes of meetings of the Parochial History Section of the Devonshire Association from 1962 (1950s-1960s)

3. Manila folder labelled 'Childe', containing: typed ms with annotations of 'The Dartmoor Legend of Mr. Childe'; including other portions of ms drafts (Childe the Hunter; Childe of Plymstock). Also includes offprint of final version, with related correspondence and research notes (1950s)

4. Blue folder labelled 'Civic Customs', containing: clippings and correspondence relating to 'beating the bounds', towns, village fairs, revels, traditions, traditional charities, 'mock mayors and mock corporations' in Devon (1950s-early 1970s)

5. Orange folder labelled 'Crime' containing: envelope labelled 'Stones-photos left by Mrs. B.M.H. Carbonell 1960' with b/w photographs and some typed comments/ correspondence re. 'Stones' (markers, tors); also other research notes regarding stones; photographs labelled 'Brandy Bottle Tree'; notes and clippings re. the hanging of criminals (1960s-1990)

6. Manila folder labelled 'Drake's Drum 1965', containing newspaper clippings and research notes, together with correspondence from Lois Deacon and Miss E.M.R. Ditmas (mid-1960s)

7. Blue folder labelled 'Games', containing research notes, clippings, and a file of descriptions of games written (in 1970) by children of Form 1, Bideford Secondary School (late 1960s-1970)

8. Blue folder labelled 'Kalendar', containing research notes and clippings, essays and papers on patterns of activities, events and festivals throughout the year, including Christmas, New Year and May. Includes a letter from W.G. Hoskins (1950s-1980s)
