3. Correspondence, typed and hand-written research notes and photocopies researching the origins of the 'grey mare

4. Typed ms. of 'Tom Pearce's Grey Mare: A Boundary Image' (a follow-on to TB's 1951 'Notes' on the Devon song 'Widecombe Fair'

5. Manila folder labelled 'The Grey Mare' (research papers and typed ms, music copies of 'Widecombe Fair' and song texts

6. Turquoise folder labelled 'Callaway', containing photocopied collected/recorded lore (some in Gaelic) from the Irish Folklore Commission and the Department of Irish Folklore, University College, Dublin; primarily for work on Black Dog. Also contains pages from chapter, 'Monsters and Sheoguey Beasts', from Visions and Beliefs in the West of Ireland Collected and Arranged by Lady Gregory: With Two Essays and Notes by W.B. Yeats.

7. Loose items, including miscellany on ghosts and related spirit phenomena. Includes clippings, notes and recollections

8. White envelope labelled 'The Hairy Hand'. [Transactions of the Devonshire Association] LXXII (1950), 113-136 containing correspondence and research notes, clippings from 1921, a map of incidents, and offprint on the 'Hairy Hand' (mostly 1940s-50s)

8. Loose items on ghosts, including photocopies and materials for TB's course on 'Folklore: An Introduction to Ghosts' (weekend school' course taught for Workers' Educ. Assoc. in Bideford in 1980 and course of 10 lectures for University of Exeter Department of Extra Mural Studies)
