Description | The diary begins on 30 Dec 1852 and has extensive, irregular entries on art, art history, friends (especially young women) and the Royal Academy to 5 Jul 1853. There is one further entry, dated 11 Aug 1853, on which occasion the author notes he was in Colyton. The diary is almost certainly not that of William Walsh (see EUL MS 21a). |
Admin History | The diary is that of an unnamed male student of art, in London, who would appear to come from Devon. The author appears to have been educated in Exeter, as he reminisces about a vestry school room in the city. |
