DescriptionCopy of a letter lent to John Marshall in Oct. 1843. Written on return from seeing Mr Miller's farm; says he will in all probability turn farmer. Mentions Jean, whom he found 'banished like another martyr, forlorn, destitute and friendless' but he established her, & reconciled her to her mother. Also mentions Clorinda, who protests she hasn't received the numerous letters he maintains he has written to her. It is a copy of 18th century original.
