TitleJohn Forster
DescriptionALS to Sir Edwin Landseer*, reminding him of the writer's desire to possess " a work from your hand to grace my small collection". He would prefer a Highland incident as a subject as Landseer had recently suggested. Also would value a water colour for his drawing room if Landseer should at some time feel "disposed to throw off a water colour sketch". [Forster later bequeathed his valuable art treasures to the Victoria & Albert Museum, South Kensington]. He promises to call on Landseer shortly, but must go in a few days to Ross to see damage done to his river-banks by "the late great floods".
