Includes references to the US Navy; the health of members of the community; the weather; the construction of a new building; management of the farm and livestock; financial management; the arrival of American soldiers on the abbey grounds; the liberation of Rome during the Second World War; the invasion of Normandy [Operation Overlord]; the death of Father Jules van Heede; and postulants.
