It includes documents concerning the visitations of Syon Abbey by Georgio Cornaro, the apostolic nuncio for Portugal, dated 1693-1696; correspondence from Fabrizio Caracciolo, dated 1608; a letter from the abbess of Syon Abbey requesting help in rebuilding the convent following its destruction by fire, dated 1662; and two documents signed by all the sisters in the community, including a petition concerning three charges made against the community entitled, 'A tru examynatyon of the brevy and the thre poynts of yt as they stand in order' (c 1620s). |
