DescriptionComprising mainly transcripts or translations of petitions addressed to the Pope and sent to Rome; responses to petitions or requests from the Pope, known as papal rescripts; and permissions and privileges, known as indults. This sub-series includes papers concerning:

- the Stations of the Cross (1862);
- the restoration of the Bridgettine Breviary or Office (1897);
- approbation upon the association of the Rosary Crusade (1903);
- a privilege for the daily votive Mass of Our Blessed Lady (1905);
- celebration of Mass according to the Bridgettine office (1905);
- the canonisation of Richard Reynolds (?1889, c 1906);
- approval to restore the Feast of St Peter ad Vincula (no date);
- the restoration of the Feast of the English Martyrs (no date);
- approval of the Crusade of Prayer and apostolic benediction to the community (c 1922-1939);
- full recognition and canonical approbation of Elizabeth Hesselblad (c 1931);
- the canonisation of John Fisher and Thomas More (1934);
- a blessing for the fourth centenary of the martyr, Richard Reynolds (1935);
- an apostolic benediction (1907 and 1909);
- 'life-tenure' for the office of abbess [elected to be perpetual abbess], and nuns to have solemn vows three years after their simple vows (c 1920);
- permission to leave Chudleigh for South Brent (1925);
- the Daily Exposition of the Daily Sacrament (1950 and 1955);
- administration of money or property (1953);
- permissions for people who may enter the enclosure (1921, 1956 and 1961);
- permission to leave the enclosure to vote in the general election (1958);
- and St Bridget to be honoured by the title: Doctor of the Church (c 1973).
