| Description | This series comprises a collection of souvenirs and local products made in the UK, which was collected by Common Ground during the Producing the Goods project. It includes stationery; wrappers and packaging for a variety of products, including sweets, biscuits and soap; mugs; products made of willow; a keyring; a badge; a pebble; a glass heart; wooden sheep; a Connemara worry stone; a lavender fabric heart; tea towels; and plastic bags. Also includes some notes and papers relating to locally distinctive food and souvenirs.
Food products found within this collection have been removed from the archive and disposed of. They included: two biscuits, boiled sweets, toffee, four sticks of rock (from Southend on Sea, Great Yarmouth, and Southport), Colman's Crunchy Mustard Powder, and edible coal dust from Wigan Pier. Packaging has been retained, wherever possible. |
