TitleFiles of collected material concerning people's parish maps
DescriptionThis sub-series comprises material collected by Common Ground relating to the making of people's parish maps, predominantly in the UK, but also in several other countries. The material mainly consists of correspondence, press clippings, and copies of parish maps (photocopies, prints, postcards, slides) sent to Common Ground by individuals and groups involved in making parish maps. Many of the papers appear to have been received in response to a call from Common Ground for information about parish maps in preparation for the 'from place to PLACE: an Exhibition of People's Parish Maps' in 1996. The majority of papers are organised into files according to the region of origin of the parish maps, but this sub-series also includes several files of general enquiries. The files appear to have been originally stored upright, presumably in a filing cabinet.
