| Description | Books belonging to John Cowper Powys's library, collected by E.E. Bissell and donated to the Powys Society. Many of the books in this library were from friends and admirers. Powys's original library was much more extensive, but many of his books were sent to Francis Powys when he began the Hastings bookstore, and the rest went to Francis upon Phyllis Plater's death. What is here is probably what Francis sold subsequently to Bissell.
