Description | Photographs and glass plate negatives of the student buildings on the Streatham campus, comprising the following: Cornwall House and Devonshire House (arranged separately by file). A detailed description of each file is given below:
i) Cornwall House One file of interior photographs, including lounge and cafeteria, plus exterior views [1970s-1980s]. Also glass plate negatives. Some views include Lafrowda flats complex. Cornwall House was completed in 1971. One photograph was taken at the opening.
ii) Devonshire House One file of interior photographs, including refectory and other communal areas, plus exterior views, during construction and the official opening [1950s-1980s]. Also glass plate negatives. Devonshire House and refectory, completed in 1960, is named after Mary, Dowager Duchess of Devonshire, Chancellor of the University, 1955-1971. |
