Correspondence in 1983 and 1984 on problems in getting 'Comrades' into production and dealing with Douglas's concerns about Ismail Merchant and the National Film Finance Corporation (NFFC), including a copy of Douglas's NFFC contract., which Anderson comments on. Anderson tries to support and reassure Douglas and discusses his theatre projects, chiefly his production of 'the Cherry Orchard'. Letter from May 1989 responding to Douglas's thoughts on Anderson's production of David Storey's play 'the March on Russia'; card from October 1989 from Anderson in New York. Many of the letters from Bill Douglas included here were unsent drafts although variants on these may have been posted subsequently.
