| Description | Collection of photograph albums and loose photographs added to by successive members of the Duncan family; both prior to Ronald Duncan's birth, and subsequent to his death. Contains images of the Duncan family's daily life, along with images of their friends, travels, professional lives and surroundings. Many photographs include well known personages such as Benjamin Britten, George Harewood, Marion Stein, Virginia Maskell, Anna Proclemer, Henry Williamson, Kathleen Ferrier and Tom Eastwood, among others. A significant number of images can be found of Docton Mill, West Mill, Mead Farm, Welcombe Beach and other areas around Welcombe, Devon. Many of the photographs have been labelled, some contemporaneously and others later on by Rose Marie Duncan and Briony Lawson. Some of the photographs bear photographers marks and include images by Madame Yevonde, Angus McBean and Florence Vandamme. |
