AdminHistoryAdrian Bell [1901-1980] was a writer and farmer. He worked briefly for The Observer, before moving to Suffolk in 1920 to work as a farm apprentice. In 1930 Bell published his first novel 'Corduroy', and became the first person to set the crossword for The Times, a position he held until 1978. In his lifetime Bell published over 25 books including two volumes of poetry, including multiple works on the subject of his agricultural experiences.
