| AdminHistory | Wilfred Herbert Gore Ewart [1892-1922] was a novelist and essayist. He studied agriculture at Bottisham Farm in Cambridge, where he collaborated with John Steven Hicks to publish 'The Possibilities of Modern Poultry Farming' whilst still in his teens. Ewart served as a Caption in the Scots Guard during the First World War, and went on to publish a novel, 'The Way of Relevation', which drew on his war experience. He travelled through Ireland in 1921, and published 'A Journey in Ireland' the same year, before embarking on a tour of the United States in 1922. He died at the age of 30 in Mexico City, when he was hit by a stray bullet during New Year's celebrations. |
