| AdminHistory | Lilias Rider Haggard [1892-1968] was a writer, nurse and local councillor. She was awarded an MBE for her work as an auxiliary nurse during the First World War, and was a member of Norfolk County Council from 1949-1952. Rider Haggard was also elected president of the Norfolk Rural Craftsmen's Guild in 1953. She wrote a number of books, including 'Norfolk Life', with an introduction by Henry Williamson, and a biography of her father, writer Henry Rider Haggard. |
