AdminHistoryStephen Southwold [1887-1964], born Stephen Henry Critten, was an author of fiction. He wrote under several pseudonyms; notably Neil Bell, but also Stephen Green, S H Lambert, Paul Martens and Miles. Southwold served during World War One in the Royal Medical Corps, and began publishing childen's stories as Stephen Southwold in 1922. He also published a number of science fiction novels, including 'The Seventh Bowl', 'The Gas War of 1940' and 'The Lord of Life'. Southwold was a long term friend of Henry Williamson, from early Georgeham days.
