Mentions a present of expensive cigarettes sent to Powys and Phyllis by Abell. Powys refers to himself as being a recluse and describes california as a an 'oasis of peace.' Powys refers to his 'vast romance' that is soon to be printed [Glastonbury Romance], and the amount of cuts, and ongoing corrections to Galley proofs. Powys discusses how the philisophical views of authors can come out in their work and references time spent with Abell in Patchin Place (New York). Powys briefly discusses his and Phyllis's [Plater] health and mentions a book being written by Abell. The envelope is addressed to Abell in Long Beach California, and stamped. [Long Beach City Directory of 1931 records a Lassie Abell, widow of John J. Abell residing at 1823 Appleton St, Long Beach]
