| AdminHistory | Bill Douglas was unable to film 'Comrades' in the actual village of Tolpuddle; due to its growth and modernity it was an unsuitable match for a rural village in the 1830s. Eventually the abandoned village of Tyneham, used since WWII for military exercises, was chosen as the stand-in for Tolpuddle. Ian Scott worked with Douglas to find locations, assisted further by research from Peter Jewell. |
