AdminHistoryBill Douglas managed to stay out of the limelight for most of his career. He did a small number of interviews in print, but recordings of the director are rare. The archive was lucky enough to obtain a series of interviews that the director gave to his neighbour, Sonia Shea, for Radio London. These were transferred to disc by the Bill Douglas Cinema Museum. The interview covers Douglas' career path, his complicated desire for anonymity and the release of his film 'My Way Home'.
Also included in the file are recordings of interviews Andrew Noble conducted while researching Douglas for 'A Lanternist's Account'. On the discs he interviews Mamoun Hassan (producer), Judy Cottam (producer), Mick Audsley (editor), Peter West (editor), David Mingay (editor), Brand Thumin (editor), Charles Rees (producer), Ian Sellar (continuity director), and Stephen Archibald (actor). The interviews provide incredible insight into Bill's work and how the director created his films.
