She wrote a column in The Sunday Times Magazine from 1969-1982, before moving to The Mail on Sunday, where she stayed until 1987. Cooper has published non-fiction guides such as 'How to Stay Married' and 'How to Survive from Nine to Five', but is best known for her fiction publications. She has published romance fiction, including works such as 'Octavia', which was later adapted for ITV, and 'The Rutshire Chronicles', and has also written a series of books for children. Cooper was awarded an OBE for services to literature in 2004, and an honorary doctorate from the University of Gloucestershire in 2009. |
