| AdminHistory | Eric Henri Kennington [1888-1960] was an artist, illustrator and sculptor. He served in the 1st Battalion 13 London regiment during the First World War, before injuring his foot in 1915. On his return, Kennington became the official war artist, a position he took up again for the duration of the Second World War. His monument to the 24th division, sculpted in 1924, stands in Battersea park. Kennington also worked as an illustrator, and his works include illustrations for T E Lawrence's 'Seven Pillars of Wisdom'. Lawrence was a close friend, and Kennington sculpted his effigy in 1939. |
