AdminHistoryAnn Courtney Welch OBE, née Edmonds [1917-2002] was a pilot and air sportswoman.
She received the Gold Air Medal from Fédération Aéronautique Internationalis (FAI) for her contributions to the development of four air sports - gliding, hand gliding, paragliding and microlight flying. Welch is thought to be the inspiration for Henry Williamson's character 'Barleybright.
