| AdminHistory | Francis Brett Young [1884-1954] was an English novelist. He studied medicine at the University of Birmingham and became a GP in Devon in 1907. Young served in the Royal Army Medical Corps during the First World War, after which he moved to Capri. He published his novel 'Portrait of Clare' in 1927, which win the James Tait Black memorial prize the same year, and was adapted for the stage and screen. |
