3 Invoice of supplies from England [presumably destined for York Estate in Jamaica], entitled ‘Invoice of Cost and Charges on Sundries shipped in the Echo, James Stuart for Jamaica on account of Edward Morant Gale’, dated 11 November 1809, London. The supplies listed closely resemble those of the previous invoices but it notably includes ‘2 dozen Black Lead Crucibles’ followed by a notice that ‘There being no foreign pots in London, to prevent disappointment we have sent English, as near as possible to the sizes ordered’. |
