It is divided into the following sections: Come out to play, Great and small, Charm and flower, Odds and ends, Songs and stories, Times and places, Love songs, Season and festival, Salt-sea and shore, Outsiders and insiders, and Myth and fable. [This collection should not be confused with 'Selected poems for children' which was published by Macmillan in 1997, and which was also illustrated by John Lawrence].
