<dc:title>James Mackay papers: diaries and notebooks</dc:title>
<dc:description>These hardback notebooks consist mainly of bought and home-made diaries or notebooks, containing jottings by Mackay.

Most of the earlier diaries (including one from North East London Polytechnic, 1975-1976) were used as general appointment diaries. One early notebook [1977-1979] contains loose cuttings and enclosed personal correspondence from friends and family, as well as materials relating to a unspecificed film, including ? location-scouting photographs, film notes and an application to the Arts Council of Great Britain (Artists' Film Committee) for a bursary to complete existing work and to develop new work, 1978.

The later larger notebooks [c 1986-1991] contain other work-related information such as costings, phone numbers, travel plans and 'to do' lists e.g. one notebook labelled 'V.V. Diary II' [? Victorian Values] contains financial information relating to the Pet Shop Boys' video 'Rent', [1986-1987].</dc:description>
