'The Great Powers' Folder of Bidwell's notes on the involvement of 'The Great Powers' - i.e. Russia, Britain, China and the US - in the Middle East, mostly typed summaries from books he had read, such as Hashim S. H. Behbehani's 'Brief history of the Liberation Movement in Oman', but also including a group of articles from The Middle East magazine and eight pages of notes gleaned from the Lebanese newspaper Al-Nahar (1970-75) and other sources. Some of the typed notes are annotated by hand and include discussions of Soviet and US strategy in the Middle East.
