<dc:title>Letter from John Cowper Powys to James Abell</dc:title>
<dc:description>Manuscript letter comprised of 1 folded sheet of paper, and the original posted envelope. Powys praises some writing of Abell's he was sent to comment on and refers to the actions of Turgot. Powys mentions his 'little Solitude book' hasn't sold badly at all' [A Philosophy of Solitude] given it came out during a Bank Moritorium, and mentions he hopes to have his 'new Romance about Weymouth' [Weymouth Sands] finished by the middle of July to be published in the Fall. He comments that the tone is lighter and more humourous than Wolf [Solent] or Glastonbury [Romance]. Powys speaks mentions his and Phyllis's health and sends thanks to J.C. for a rug. The envelope is addressed to Abell at 54 Barrow Street, and is stamped. </dc:description>
