  <dc:title>Papers relating to anthology 'The sun, dancing'</dc:title>
  <dc:description>'The sun, dancing: Christian verse' was first published for children by Kestrel Books in 1982 and was selected by Causley and illustrated by Charles Keeping. The alternative working title for the anthology was 'Pebbles in the stream' [named after the poem of that title by William Bell Scott].

It is divided into the following sections: Starting points, Creatures and the Kingdom, Prayers and songs, Onwards from Eden, After the dreadful flood was past, Voices and visitors, Christmas, To Epihany and after, The childhood of Christ, To Easter and beyond, Miracles, parables and mysteries, Saints and prophets, God's children, Peace and war, Signs and services and Comings and goings. It includes the following poems by Causley: 'I am the great sun', 'The animals' carol', ' Innocents' Song', 'The ballad of the bread man' and 'On All Souls' Day'.

1. Two folders relating to initial selections for anthology, including correspondence, photocopied or typescript text of original selected poems, list of sources, omitted poems, notes by Causley etc, c 1980. Originally contained in one blue and one green wallet folder. Enclosed: letter from editor, Penguin Books, to Causley at Department of Humanities, Footscray Institute of Technology, Victoria, Australia, 17 Mar 1981

2. Typescript, with label of David Higham Associates Ltd on front cover. Enclosed: corrected copy typescript index of first lines and index of authors and corrected typescript of text for inside flap of dust jacket, c 1982-1984
