<dc:title>Photographs taken by Molly Songhurst / Lockley, including of Princess Margaret's visit to the University</dc:title>
<dc:description>Comprising four small photographic prints (9cm x 9cm) created by Molly Lockley, née Songhurst, during her work as an Examinations Clerk in the Office of the Academic Registrar at the University of Exeter. They include three privately-taken black and white photographs of the visit of Princess Margaret to the University on 08 May 1959 to open the Queen's Building (also known as the Arts Building). The names of people featured in the photographs are noted on the reverse sides of the prints, and they include: Princess Margaret; the Chancellor, Mary Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire; the Vice-Chancellor, Dr J W [James Wilfred] Cooke; Professor [Frank] Barlow; Lady Iris Peake; and 'the Detective'. Buildings featured include the Queen's Building and the Mary Harris Memorial Chapel. The fourth photograph is a colour photograph, which is assumed to show Molly's office at the University of Exeter. A colleague [no name noted on reverse side] sits at a typewriter in front of a room divider with various pictures and items affixed to it. It is dated on the reverse side as July 1966.</dc:description>
