TitleGale's Valley Estate accounts, 1801-1808

1 Estate accounts for Gale's Valley Estate, dated 1801. It details the payment of salaries, the purchase of enslaved people, and the exchange of livestock and produce. It also includes accounts of ‘The Trustees of William Gale Esquire deceased in Account Current with John Harwood and William Green (for 1801)’, dated 31 December 1801. There is then an ‘Account Current’ containing details about the people enslaved on Gale’s valley estate, alongside details of livestock, from 28 December 1800 to the 28 March 1801.

2 Estate accounts for Gale’s Valley Estate as above, dated 1807. It includes accounts of crops and the shipment of crops from the estate. There is also an account of ‘The Trustees of William Gale Esquire deceased in account current with Harwood & Green’, followed by details of the births and deaths of enslaved people, again placed alongside details of the ‘increase’ and ‘decrease’ of livestock.

3 Accounts for the trustees of William Gale’s Estate ‘in account current with Harwood and Green’, as above. It includes an ‘account current’ detailing the births and deaths of people enslaved on Gale’s Valley Estate from 28 December 1808 to 28 December 1809, followed by an account of livestock. There is then an account current for the trustees of William Gale’s Estate from 01 November to 31 December 1808 ‘as of annexed account current’, followed by an account of ‘shipment of crop’ for 1809. Finally, the remaining details of the account current for 1809 are included.
