Papers include a complete issue of Time Magazine (4 February 1991) with General Norman Schwarzkopf on the cover and some fifty pages of coverage of the Gulf War inside, articles from the International Herald Tribune, Le Monde, Independent, Guardian and Financial Times, a photocopied article from Time Magazine on 'Who Armed Baghdad?', various cuttings discussing civilian casualties and the effects of the allied bombardment on the military and Iraqi infrastructure, a Guardian article from 12 February 1991 giving the full text of UN Secretary-General Javier Perez de Cuellar's statement to the Security Council on 14 January 1991, a Financial Times' book reviews of two books on the Gulf War: 'Unholy Babylon: The Secret History of Saddam's War' and 'Saddam's War: the origins fo the Kuwait conflict and the international response' and a Guardian article (11 February 1991) on the role of Islam in Saddam Hussein's political ideology. Telex reports cover topics such as the first Syrian military action of the war, military and political statements on the aims of the campaign and the timing of the ground war, as well as firsthand reports from Baghdad and Basra. and numerous other pages of detailed extracts compiled by the BBC's Summary of World Broadcasts.
