DescriptionThick folder of presscuttings, telex reports, correspondence, notes and other papers relating to healthcare and hospitals in Iraq between 1979 and 1986, including Crusoe's work on a story for MEED about Hungarian investment in Iraqi maternity hospital equipment. In addition to copies of reports published in the Financial Times, Middle East Health and others, there are numerous articles from the Baghdad Observer reporting on the opening of new hospitals, X-ray facilities and other medical centres, as well as more general articles from the same newspaper on Iraq's free healthcare service, mortality rates and medical training, as well as significant developments such as the first kidney transplants (1985). Other items include a DHSS 'Report on a Visit to Iraq, March 1980' and a brochure on Frigo's 'Medical Cold Store' project in Kuwait.
