These include a case history of a project to clear the waterways (by Douglas Brand, who was later taken hostage - see EUL MS143/10/1/27) with several related cuttings, reports of new cargo ships being ordered for the state-controlled Iraqi Line, a Baghdad Observer article (11 February 1987), copies of tenders being put out for water transport construction projects, seven pages of Crusoe's handwritten notes on river transport and dam construction, photocopied articles from Middle East Industry & Transport (1980) and New Civil Engineer (1981) on Iraqi waterways, various book chapter excerpts and typescripts, photocopied information sheets with maps and architectural plans by DHV (Dwars, Heederk en Verhey), consulting engineers of Holland, on projects for improvements on the River Tigris, articles on port facilities and Iraqi oil transport, the Arab Gulf Academy for Marine Studies, and details of the construction of a luxury yacht for Saddam Hussein and a luxury cruiser for the Iraqi government.
