DescriptionFolder of cuttings and papers relating to the expansion of the Kirkuk-Baiji-Haditha railway line, which was completed in 1987 by Korean firm Hyundai, although an earlier cutting (1976) refers to the nationwide contract agreed (but later withdrawn) with Rail India Technical and Economic Services (RITES). Cuttings report on progress at various stages during the 1980s, there is a fax to Crusoe from UK firm Marconi Communication Systems about the purchase of their train radio system for the Iraqi line, a MEED report (July 1982) on Hyundai being awarded the contract and other details of the project, a 13-page typed account of the line by Alfred K. Zuber and Dietrich Theurer and two poor quality photocopies of photographs of construction work
