DescriptionFile containing correspondence, policy, schedules, notes and photographs relating to the Northcott Theatre Young people's department, particularly the Theatre In Education initiative.
Includes documents setting out the Young People's Department Policy, meeting notes, Schools Tour schedules (Jan-Mar 1974, May-Jul 1974, Sep-Dec 1973, Jan 1969), schools feedback/ consultation forms, a report on the Young People's Department project "Clowns", and a script for "The Great Train Robbery" by Christopher Denys. Also includes correspondence with local County Councils, Arts Council England, and local schools surrounding School's productions, and correspondence and proposals concerning a Theatre-In Education service for Devon/ Cornwall/ Somerset Schools [particularly around it's withdrawal of services from Cornwall and disbandment under Geoffrey Reeves]. Much of the correspondence is with John Prior (Young Peoples Director), Clive Barker, and Mary Evans (Northcott Companies Manager, who later founded Cygnet Theatre). The material relates to the named shows "The Cage", "Slavery", "Woman's Place", "The Tragedy and History of Thomas Spence", and includes pictures taken by Nicholas Toyne of the schools productions "Slavery" [See also EUL MS 383/1/ADK]
