DescriptionCorrespondence to and from Robin Bidwell regarding his research into the history of Bahrain. These include copies of letters from Bidwell to Dr Kamel Nagi and Dr Morsi Abdullah, the Qatari Ambassador to the UK and Qatari minister Dr Hassan Kamel, regarding a proposed research commission into the dispute between Bahrain and Qatar over the Hawar islands. There are letters to Miss Belgrave, grand-daughter of Charles Dalrymple Belgrave, regarding access to his diaries (see EUL MS 148), correspondence with 'Gill' - probably Gillian Grant - of the Middle East Centre, St Anthony's College, Oxford, regarding the diaries of Sir Rupert Hay (with a descriptive list and extracts from the Hay diaries), a letter to Lt. Col. A.C. Galloway with a reply from his widow, correspondence with Qatari cabinet minister and human rights lawyer Dr Najeeb Al-Nauimi outlining Bidwell's contacts for further research, and a letter to Tam Dalyell MP regarding papers of his father, Percy Gordon Loch (Political Agent in Bahrain, 1932-37).
