| Description | Notebook recording the minutes of meetings held by the 'Discreets'. The 'Discreets' appear to be a small group of sisters who acted as advisors to the abbess, and the term is presumably synonymous with 'Council'. The final entries in the notebook refer to the 'Council' rather than the 'Discreets'. Advice from the Bishop of Plymouth on holding meetings of the Chapter and the Council, dated 1889, is transcribed at the front of the notebook. |
