Following the granting of a special licence by Rome that allowed the abbesses of Syon Abbey to be made perpetual abbesses as their medieval predecessors had been, Sister Mary Teresa Jocelyn was installed as perpetual abbess of Syon Abbey on 04 May 1921 in a ceremony presided over by the Bishops of Plymouth John Keily. |
