ArrangementCorrespondence appears to have been organised by the community at Syon Abbey in several different ways, presumably in accordance with the recordkeeping systems of different abbesses or sisters. This section includes one series of correspondence arranged alphabetically into bundles, and one series of correspondence arranged into files by subject. The original order of each bundle and file of correspondence has been preserved.

This section also includes one series of currently unsorted correspondence and mixed papers. These have been arranged into files according to the number of the box they were originally kept in at Syon Abbey. The contents of each file are listed in spreadsheets. Please contact Special Collections for more information.

Correspondence identified in the archive as relating to a specific function or activity at Syon Abbey has been catalogued under the corresponding section
