| Description | Correspondents include: James Millward (manuscript copy letter); Sister M [Mary] Agnes Cliffe of Syon Abbey addressed to 'Dear Cousin'; James Cliffe of the English College in Lisbon addressed to 'Dear Elizabeth'; and Samuel Corbishley of Hardwick to Mr Hurst (concerning 'next steps to be taken by our dear English Nuns at Lisbon, and dated 1821). Also includes an unsigned letter concerning monasteries in Belgium and portraits; a manuscript note (c 19th century) concerning St Monica's Convent in Spetisbury, and one (c 18th century) manuscript page of the first two stations of the cross. All items but one letter in this file date to the 19th century or earlier. |
