DescriptionThis series comprises a membership register, and a list of subscribers, and a document regarding the aims and conditions of admission to St Joseph's Guard of Honour, a prayer association established at Syon Abbey. St Joseph's Guard of Honour or St Joseph's Fund was commenced 29 October 1889 and put under the patronage of St Joseph 19 April 1890. It was established to unite associates in prayer for the dying, the conversion of sinners, the spiritual and temporal necessities of the associates, and to obtain 'the grace of a happy death'. Associates were to choose one hour each day or night to offer up prayers in honour of St Joseph.
