Many of the programmes are from Edinburgh International Festival, the Royal Opera House and Devon Festival, while others are for performances outside the United Kingdom. A large number are for works by Benjamin Britten, noteably including programmes from the premieres of 'Albert Herring', 'Billy Budd', 'Gloriana' and 'Prince of the Pagodas'. The collection also includes programmes for 'The Punch Revue', a memorial service for Victoria Ansell and the first Fifty Mile Ride. Some of the items have been signed or annotated.
