This folder also contains copies of letters sent to, and received from Sir Russell Johnston for the Social and Liberal Democrats and Sir Geoffrey Howe (British Foreign Secretary) responding to a PUK press release, and related correspondence with Claiborne Pell, Chair of US Senate Committee of Foreign Relations together with the preamble to of the 'Prevention of Genocide Act' (1988) and Pell's statement in support of the Act with reference to Iraqi Kurdistan.
