| Description | This sub-series comprises papers relating to the Community Orchards campaign, which encouraged communities to establish new community orchards in their local areas to 'revive an interest in fruit growing, provide a way of sharing knowledge and horticultural skills, and stimulate us into growing food for ourselves again' (From 'Community Orchards' leaflets, Common Ground, 1996).
The material in this sub-series includes 15 files containing information sent to and collected by Common Ground concerning community orchards in Britain. These papers were organised by Common Ground into lever arch files and arranged alphabetically according to place. The files include correspondence between Common Ground and people involved in the establishment and care of community orchards; completed 'Community Orchards' questionnaires; print-outs of web pages; press clippings; photographs; newsletters; promotional material; and notes. |
