Admin HistorySir John Collings Squire [1884-1958] was a writer, journalist and literary editor. He wrote poetry, parody and anthologies, and was literary editor for the New Statesman before founding the London Mercury in 1919. Squire was an early supporter and encourager of Henry Williamnson, and helped to get 'Tarka the Otter' the Hawthornden Prize.
