Includes entries relating to time spent with friends and family; social engagements; his health; the weather; nature observations; birthdays, weddings and deaths; Dr Johnson's House, including references to Daphne Harmsworth's drawings for a guide book; days out and trips around England; Lord Curzon leaving the Secretaryship of State and Cecil Harmsworth's memories of him (15 Feb); trips to Scotland; fishing; a poetry reading by Edith Sitwell (15 May); a dinner of the Architecture Club with Ramsay MacDonald (23 May); committee meetings of the Commons and Footpaths Society; meetings of the Fisheries Organization Society; the royal garden party at Buckingham Palace (24 Jul); a cruise around the Baltic, including visits to Copenhagen, Stockholm and Amsterdam (22 Aug-11 Sep); new verses for his 'Fishing Book'; the British Empire Exhibition (17 Oct); the general election (Oct); a trip to the West Country, including conversation with fishermen and the Fishermen's Society (Nov); and Christmas.

Contains several pasted-in items, including newspaper clippings, and stamps issued in connection with the British Empire exhibition.

Contains an envelope at the back of the diary containing a list of 'Diary for 1924 Entries of special interest', a photograph postcard, newspaper clippings, a leaflet of the Sylvan Debating Club, and telegraphs.
